Range Rules and Etiquette

The fundamental NRA rules for safe gun handling are:

ALWAYS Keep The
Gun Pointed In A Safe Direction

This is the primary rule of gun safety. Common sense dictates the safest direction, depending on different circumstances.

ALWAYS Keep Your Finger
Off The Trigger Until Ready To Shoot

When holding a gun, rest your finger alongside the frame and outside the trigger guard. Until you are actually ready to fire, do not touch the trigger.

ALWAYS Keep The
Gun Unloaded Until Ready To Use

If you do not know how to open the action or inspect the chamber(s), leave the gun alone and get help from someone who does.

STANDING RULES

1. The use of an Empty Chamber Indicator (ECI) in All firearms, is MANDATORY until firearm is on the firing line or being holstered.

2. A Club Representative shall be present at any organized activity.

3. A Member may bring no more than 3 guests in at one time.

4. Members and Guests are to clean up the areas they use, Ranges, Ready Room, Class Room and Restrooms.

5. White Plastic Chairs are not to be used on the ranges.

6. No Smoking or Open beverages on the ranges.

7. No Alcohol or Drugs allowed (If you have been drinking or on medication that hinder your shooting skills, GO HOME.

8. Everyone out on the range must wear hearing and eye protection

9. Do Not handle any firearms for any reason when someone is down range. The use of an ECI in All firearms is MANDATORY.

10. Do Not cross fire on targets. Bullets may hit the backstop at an odd angle and may bounce back up the range.

11. The only rifles allowed are 9mm,40, 45 acp,.22 rimfire and air rifles.

12. No pistols allowed when attaching forearm brace to ar.

13. Only lead pellets are allowed for air guns.

14. No black powder firearms and/or cartridges allowed on range.

15. No handguns that fire centerfire rifle cartridges.

16. No armor piercing or tracer rounds allowed on range.

17. No projectiles allowed that will attract a magnet.

18. NO cross firing at targets

19. The following CALIBERS are NOT ALLOWED to be shot on the RANGE: .17 rimfire, .22 rimfire Mach 2, 50AE, 500 S&W, 480 Ruger, 460 Magnum, 454 Casull, 5.7x28, 7.62x25 and shot shells, all caliber/gauge and shot size, including slugs.

Violation of any of these rules may lead to Termination of your Membership
